League Information

WHAM runs two leagues each fall and spring (Women's Rec & Co-Rec) and a Women's Winter Recreational League (inlcudes end of the season tournament).

WHAM Winter Women's Recreational League

This program is designed for women of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced.  WHAM Winter Rec is a great way to get to know other women hockey players.  WHAM will strive to build teams that are roughly equal in their mix of skill levels.  The goal is to have fun and improve hockey skills in a supportive team environment. Teams and game schedules will be determined after registration. Goalies are assigned to specific teams. Team jerseys will be provided and must be returned at the end of the season.

The season consists of a week of pre-game activities (kickoff party and pickup games), 12 weeks of league games, and three weeks of league tournament. You will play one game each week, on Friday night.

Each skater may request to play on a team with one other person. WHAM will do its best to honor reciprocal requests.

WHAM Fall & Spring Leagues: Women's & Co-Rec

The fall and spring shoulder seasons are a great time to get to know other players and to introduce a friend or family member to hockey! In these leagues players are assigned to a pod of 5-6 skaters that is combined with a different pod each week. WHAM will strive to build pods that are roughly equal in their mix of skill levels. Teams and game schedules will be determined after registration and posted on the WHAM website. Goalies are assigned to games and teams after the schedule is made.

Each skater may request to play on a pod with one other person. WHAM will do its best to honor reciprocal requests.

No slap shots are allowed in WHAM leagues, and anyone who engages in unsportsmanlike behavior will be ejected.

Season Length: 6 weeks

Each player needs a white jersey and a dark jersey.

Each league limited to 48 players.

WHAM Women's Rec

This developmental league is designed for women of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced.  This is a great league for beginners to learn from more experienced players. Advanced players are expected to give newer players time and space to make plays.

Women’s Rec games are on Mondays.

WHAM Co-Rec

This developmental league is designed for women and men of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. It is intended to be a relaxed and inclusive recreational league. Advanced players are expected to play to the level of the puck and to use a soft defensive style that gives lower-level players time and space to make decisions and experience making plays and carrying the puck.
Co-Rec games are on Sundays.
